Who we are

Wirral Garden & Property is a sole-trader gardening and property maintenance business operated by Marcos Lee, based in Port Sunlight, Wirral, CH62. Contact: 07542 888 772 / marcos@gmx.co.uk

What data we collect and why

Quote and contact enquiries: When you contact us via WhatsApp, phone, email or our Telegram booking assistant, we may record your name, phone number, address, job details and any photographs you send, in order to provide a quote and carry out the work.

Job application form: We collect your name, phone number, location, availability, experience and any other information you choose to share. This is used solely for the purpose of assessing your application.

Newsletter subscription: We collect your name, email address, postcode and (optionally) garden photographs. This data is used to send you fortnightly gardening tips personalised to your location and garden. Your postcode is used to fetch local weather data. Garden photographs, if provided, are used only to tailor tip content to your specific garden.

Website analytics & visitor location: When you visit this website we record anonymous, aggregated analytics to understand how the site is used and roughly where our visitors are located. From your connection we derive an approximate location (country, region and town, plus a coarse map coordinate) to build a regional heat map of demand. We do not store your full IP address — it is converted into an irreversible coded value used only to count unique visitors — and this analytics data is not linked to your name or used to identify you. This first-party measurement sets no cookies.

Optional third-party analytics & advertising (consent only): If you accept cookies via the banner shown on your first visit, we additionally load Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. These set cookies on your device and share usage data with Google and Meta to help us measure marketing performance. They do not run unless you accept, and declining has no effect on the site. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which will show the banner again.

Photographs & marketing

We take before and after photographs of our work for our records, and may use them to promote our services (for example on social media or this website) without showing your name, full address or any identifying details. If you'd prefer we didn't use photographs of your garden, just tell us and we won't.

Legal basis for processing

For newsletter subscriptions, the legal basis is your explicit consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send.

For quote and job enquiries, the legal basis is legitimate interest in running our business and responding to your request.

For anonymous, aggregated first-party website analytics and approximate visitor location, the legal basis is legitimate interest in understanding and improving our service and demand across the Wirral. As this data does not identify you, is held in aggregate and sets no cookies, it carries minimal privacy impact; you can object at any time using the contact details below.

For optional Google Analytics and Meta Pixel cookies, the legal basis is your explicit consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and PECR), given via the cookie banner. They are not loaded unless you accept.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your data to any third party. Data is stored securely in Supabase (EU-hosted cloud database). Emails are sent via Resend. We do not share your data with marketing companies.

How long we keep your data

Newsletter subscriber data is kept until you unsubscribe, after which it is deleted within 30 days. Job application data is kept for up to 6 months. Enquiry data is kept for as long as needed to complete the job or quote. Aggregated website analytics are retained for up to 12 months.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to: access the data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; withdraw consent at any time (for newsletter); lodge a complaint with the ICO at ico.org.uk.

To exercise any of these rights, contact Marcos directly on 07542 888 772 or marcos@gmx.co.uk.

Cookies

By default this website sets only essential storage: a service worker that caches pages for faster loading. Our first-party analytics (anonymous, aggregated usage and approximate visitor location — see “Website analytics & visitor location” above) set no cookies.

Non-essential cookies from Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel are loaded only if you accept them on the consent banner shown on your first visit. Decline and none are set. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site's stored data in your browser.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance.
