New decking
Site cleared, ground levelled or joist-framed for raised decks, posts set in postcrete, joists spaced for the chosen board, boards laid with proper spacing for drainage and movement. We use either pressure-treated softwood (cost-effective, ~10-15 year life with annual care) or composite (longer-life, lower-maintenance, higher upfront cost) — we walk through trade-offs against your budget and use case.
Restoration of existing decks
Most older decks aren't finished — they're just dirty, faded, and ready for a refresh. Stage one: pressure-wash with a deck-safe nozzle pressure. Stage two: sand any rough spots, replace failed boards. Stage three: clean, dry, treat with an oil or stain matched to the timber. The result usually looks 80% as good as new for 30% of the cost.
Balustrades, steps and lighting
Handrails to building-regs spec if needed, steps and treads to match the deck finish, recessed LED step lights for evening use. All wiring done by a Part-P certified electrician we partner with.
